April 21st is National Kindergarten Day and it is also the birthday of German educator Fredrick Forbel. He founded the first play and activity institute called kindergarten in 1837. According to Forbel, young children should follow their own interests and freely explore them. That is why kindergartens include singing, dancing, and creative play. Since it was National Kindergarten Day, Keebaugh and Company decide to have a contest on Facebook where anyone could nominate their favorite Kindergarten Teacher. We had over 55 names come in within a week. Our lucky winner, Carli Lott from Hallsville East Elementary, won a box full of school supplies and a $100 gift card to help her make it thru the rest of the year. Thank you to all our educators for all that you do!
